About Me

I'm Hannah, a mother of one, and I've lived in East Cornwall most of my life. I'm a singer, guitarist, allotmenteer and cat-mum, and have a passion for coffee, painting and plants. And this is my trying-not-to-look-madly-busy face.

I hand craft beautiful and bespoke jewellery in Sterling and Fine (pure) Silver and gorgeous semi-precious gemstones. Each piece is individual and unique, and created by myself.

My work is inspired by the wild, diverse nature of Cornwall - from rugged cliff and rolling sea, to moorland wilderness, to ancient woodland, right down to the unique and organic nature of the plants at the garden centre where I now live.

About Moss Root Jewellery
Moss Root Jewellery

Moss Root Jewellery was created in April 2016, and is brought to you from South East Cornwall.

I first learned to make jewellery with lampwork beads and silver-plated wire. I later moved on to bronze, silverplate and Swarovski Elements when I made costume pieces for bellydancers, before experimenting with Sterling Silver and semi-precious gemstones. When I set up as Moss Root Jewellery in April 2016, I named the business after a 'gift' my daughter had given me as a toddler: a really unique twisty piece of moss root, which decorated our kitchen wall until it was lost in a house move late in 2021.

My more recent designs have become quite distinctive and are easily recogniseable - many of which are taken directly from leaves found in local woodland, and so it has been said that when you buy from my Botanical Collection you're not only buying a piece of unique jewellery... you're taking home a small piece of Cornwall.

Moss Root Jewellery is now tested and fully hallmarked at London Assay Office, which means you can be assured of receiving the highest quality silver.
