We've Moved!

The last couple of years have been a funny time for Moss Root Jewellery, and in some unexpected ways. Back at the end of 2019 I decided to take a break to focus on my health for a while, as my personal life reared from one disaster to another and my mental health began to suffer. In these 2 years (or so), I've taken a lot of time away from creating Jewellery. I've used the time to get better, to focus on what's important - the people I share my life with - and life has worked back around to shine the light on my little business once again.

In September, just 4 months ago, we packed up and moved house. We moved into a beautiful old building with a local small business owner (now my Fiancé), and Moss Root Jewellery has had a few changes of location in that short amount of time! He is the sort of person whose head is always brimming with new ideas and inspiration, and he always has half a dozen big projects on the go... my workshop has been one of those projects on a few occasions already.

For the first 2 months everything was still packed away. In November, a corner was created for me in "The Barn": a semi-outdoor space with lots of natural light and feathered visitors to keep me company as I worked. Then Winter hit, and he didn't want me working out there using only a hot water bottle and excessive cups of coffee for warmth, so he created a space for me in our laundry room.

Such a messy job for a tiny room which is best kept clean. Not cool.

The workshop moved back to The Barn.

This week, however, his mind turned to my workshop once again and as a result I have a little workspace in his shop. Tucked away in a corner, not too far from the kettle and the microwave, and we still have the odd feathered friend letting themselves in to steal from our birdseed stocks. I don't know how long this new location will last, but I intend to keep you in-the-know if the workshop moves again... no more unexplained silences.

Wishing you all a happy and prosperous new year, and I hope to see you back here on the blog next week!
